Grant Brening is a 2023 3B/RHP/IF with a 5-6 140 lb. frame from Shakopee, MN who attends Prior Lake. Small and stocky frame with plenty of time to continue to fill out physically. Ran an 8.87 second 60 yard dash. Primary third baseman, moved to the baseball during infield drills with low effort actions and young hands out in front, funnels the baseball in a narrow gathering position, takes a long release into throws with developing arm strength, topped out at 63 mph across the diamond. Lefthanded hitter, sets up with a wide base and a high hand set, weight sits on back leg taking a leg lift trigger into contact, compact and linear swing flashing a direct hand path to the baseball, will improve strength off of the barrel with maturity and refinement to lower half weight shift. Good student.
