Jason Brooks is a 2007 3B/1B with a 6'3'', 210 lb. frame from Westlake Village CA, who attends Oaks Christian HS. He has a big, strong build with thick hips and thighs and the chance to get really strong in the future with work. Brooks had clean, deliberate fielding actions at third base, with smooth hands and a strong throwing arm. He'll likely have to work on his quickness to continue to play third at the next level. He also plays some first base. Brooks hits out of a wide, crouched stance with a limited load. He has quick hands and shows raw power to all fields, with some lift in his swing. Brooks waits back on the ball well. His crouched stance and lack of a good trigger restrict his power somewhat. He has good overall hitting tools and could really develop with some adjustments. Brooks also pitched a bit, showing a loose arm action and good downhill angle on a 80 mph fastball. Brooks is an excellent student.
