Jimi Welsher is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Costa Mesa, CA who attends Pacifica. Primary left-handed pitcher with a young frame and some room to fill out and add strength. Stays closed for most of delivery, before opening up to an over the top slot. Arm action goes up and down and is long throughout. Shows developing command of the fastball at 70-to-72 miles per hour. Shows some feel for a curveball with 12-to-6 shape at 62 miles per hour. Secondary outfielder with some athletic and projectable actions. Approaches the ball well, getting to and through it to create momentum into throws. Throws from a three-quarters slot with developing arm strength up to 79 miles per hour. Makes accurate throws to bases with good backspin and carry. Crouched and open stance at the plate with a simple leg lift trigger and rotational lower half. Developing use of the lower half, currently trusting hands to do a lot of the work. Hard hit balls are back through the box to the middle of the field. Ran a 7.57 second sixty-yard dash.
