Nicholas Briones is a 2020 OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Lakewood, CA who attends Millikan HS. Young, athletic frame with square shoulder and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes longer and quick strides moving towards the ball, fields out front and works into a full arm action through the back, occasionally gets under throws, over-the-top release point and shows true carry, athletic actions and quick reactions to the ball. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Upper body dominant swing, stays short to the ball with barrel path and quick through the zone. Stays compact and shows simple mechanics, repeats well and works the middle and pull side parts of the field, occasionally creates lift at front. Good student.
