Gabe Atkins is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 5-9 152 lb. frame from Castle Pines, CO who attends Rock Canyon. Small and young frame with room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.26 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, some quick twitch to actions, comes to the baseball quickly, fields hops well to the side of his body, quick release getting it out of his hand, average arm strength, throws are on a line, topped out at 76 mph from the outfield. Secondary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch, lift leg to a low position to begin delivery, compact arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, short stride down the mound landing close, gets out over front foot nicely. Fastball is mostly straight but flashed occasional sink, curveball has 11-to-5 shape. Righthanded hitter, open stance with a high hand set, leg lift trigger, relaxed swing, weight sits on back side before shifting into contact nicely, direct hands to the baseball, some feel for the barrel with pull side contact. Good student.
