James Park is a 2019 C/1B/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Manhattan Beach, CA who attends Mira Costa HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, compact set behind the plate and receives the ball out front, gains ground with lower half, strides slightly open, works on top of throws and delivers accurate strikes to second base both in drills and live action, quick transfer out of glove, reads ball and tracks pop ups well off the bat. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and lower back elbow in the box with an open stance. Stays simple with swing and keeps hands tight, incorporates physical strength into swing with jump off the barrel. Generates extension and separation out front at point of contact, stays compact with swing and repeats nicely. Good student. Named to West Coast Top Prospect List.
