Michael Medinas is a 2019 1B/ with a 6-1 225 lb. frame from Mariposa, CA who attends Mariposa County. Large frame, broad shoulders, long limbs and an athletic build with present strength. Primary first baseman with athletic footwork while centering the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front with two hands and worked through exchange well. Long front side stride while releasing from a high three-quarters slot. Topped at 67 miles per hour creating softer carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with a upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to baseball and utilized a naturally leveraged barrel plane. Looked to stay behind contact and create separation while driving the ball to the middle of the field. Flashed good strength at contact that produced some loud carry through the gaps when squared. Good student as well.
