Cade Baker is a 2020 C/RHP with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Roca, NE who attends Norris. Medium frame with broad shoulders and room to add strength in build. Ran an 8.03 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Starts with an even stance and shows quick feet coming out as well as through transfer. Short and compact arm action in the back and gets the ball out quick. Keeps throws low and accurate to the bag with developing carry. Throws topping out at 72 miles per hour and popping a 2.04. Righthanded hitter with an even stance to start. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Linear actions to contact with a slightly elevated path. Swings with intent and looks to drive the ball to the gaps. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a short side step delivery into a leg lift to the belt. Long and loose arm action in the back into a three-quarters release. Works the fastball on the inner half of the plate well and can hit all quadrants of the zone topping out at 79 miles per hour. Creates some angle to the plate on a sinking changeup. Also mixes in a 12-to-6 curveball with depth. Mixes pitches well and can work backwards. Very good student as well.
