Jose Vasquez is a 2022 OF with a 5-3 125 lb. frame from Norwalk, CT who attends Brien Mcmahon. Small frame, solid build for height and athletic, 7.17 runner in the 60-yard dash. Shows quick and aggressive footwork in the outfield to read hops and attack the ball, builds momentum into throws and has solid arm strength with on-line carry and accuracy to the bases. Hits from a wide and open base, slight crouch, with high hands and back elbow set. Uses a small leg lift trigger for timing with a slight weight shift into contact. Has slight lift in the bat path with a pull side approach at the plate. Creates elevation to the pull side with better barrel feel displayed later in his round. Strength and maturity will allow this approach to play moving forward. Good student.
