Cameron Gross is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Newman Lake, WA who attends East Valley HS. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Simple leg left to belt and stayed tall on back side at gather. Utilized lower half well employing tall and fall actions to the plate. Quick arm stab at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Tends to land at a closed front side position creating some crossfire at release. Fastball produced good downhill plane through the zone in the low to mid 70's, topped at 74 miles per hour. Breaking flashed tight 11/5 shape when staying on top of offering and maintaining arm speed through finish. Consistently looked to attack the bottom quadrants of the strike zone and induce weak contact. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing clean footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels ball off to side and worked through exchange well. Released from a high three-quarters arm slot producing downhill carry to the bag at 76 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a slight crouched, even stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Simple path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Swung with intent and looked the drive the baseball with authority to the middle of the field. Flashed some jump off the barrel when squared generating good carry to each gap. Good student as well.
