Caden Herbst is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Selah, WA who attends Selah HS. Slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. Well paced delivery with an extended 3/4'sto mid 3/4's arm slot, tends to drop his arm slot occasionally on his fastball, repeats his mechanics well and has a low effort release. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, gets lots of late life on his fastball both running and cutting. Breaking ball has good spin and some downer shape at times. Threw strikes consistently and challenged hitter. Right handed hitter, steps open in his swing with an early front side, short downward swing plane with pull side contact. Good student.
