Jayden Gatling is a 2019 OF/MIF with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Kinston, NC who attends North Lenoir HS. Recorded a 7.13 second 60-yard dash time. Younger look and frame with present athleticism that plays well all over the diamond. Primary outfielder with fluidity to actions and a big crow hop. Full and loose arm action who reads hops well and gets some carry on accurate throws. Secondary infielder who fields the ball well out in front with accurate throws. Deliberate actions with some hesitance to movements, but makes the plays cleanly. Righthanded hitter with a wide base, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Direct path to contact and controls the barrel well to create line drive contact. Occasional loft with a spread open stance. Can drive the ball to the opposite field well with a very simple trigger into contact. Excellent student.
