Ryuga Hatashima is a 2018 RHP/2B with a 5-7 175 lb. frame from Fukuoka, FO who attends Soseikan HS. Slender young athletic build. Listed as primary pitcher but much better player as a middle infielder. Has outstanding athleticism and actions at second base, made several big league plays with a very quick release and accurate throws, big range up the middle, looked solid at shortstop with more arm strength than he showed in drills or on the mound, plays defense with flair and confidence. Switch hitter, much better hitter from the left side, has a fluid left handed swing with good barrel control, quick hands and gets some carry off the barrel. Slow paced on line delivery on the mound, works from the stretch, mid-70's fastball, mostly straight from a high 3/4's slot. Soft curveball with a small downer break, threw strikes with both pitches. Fun to watch play defense.
