Adam Metivier is a 2019 SS/RHP, OF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends Assumption. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Ran a 7.04 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with sound footwork while traveling to and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball from a slightly deeper position and worked through transfer with clean exchanges. Compact arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced some carry to the bag topping at 74 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Direct hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout. Looked to let the ball travel to a deeper hitting position and work to the middle of the field and opposite field gap. Also pitched showing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced on back side and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed occasional downhill tilt sitting in the mid 70's, topped at 77 miles per hour. Breaking ball showed proper shape with loose spin and occasional depth in the low 60's. Looked to located both pitches down int he zone and challenge hitters. Very good student as well.
