Salvatore Sgroi is a 2020 C/P with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends Brooklyn Studio Secondary. Medium frame with strong build; good strength at present. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.82 seconds. Hits from slightly open stance, hunches over into load, torques hips well into swing, toe tap trigger, shows line drive swing plane with whole field approach, projectable hitting tools. Primary catcher, narrow based with side saddle set, higher up in set, comes out and around the plate in footwork, clocked up to 68 mph on throws. Also took infield reps, shows hands to both sides with accuracy on throws, clocked up to 75 mph. Also pitched, compact arm action to release from ear, hides the ball well, threw a ton of strikes with his fastball at 70-74 mph, also worked in curveball. Good student.
