Bridger Grothe is a 2019 3B/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Littleton, CO who attends Heritage. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Projects for additional strength. Primary third baseman with aggressive footwork while traveling to and rounding the baseball. Funnels baseball off center and worked through exchange quickly. Flashed some range to each side. Released from a high energy three-quarters arm slot producing some carry across the infield, topped at 77 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance. Creates some top half coil at load and works to contact with a loose hand path. Level, line drive barrel plane through extension. Showed good balanced throughout while employing a mid field approach. Created line drive, ground ball contact between the gaps and flashed the developing feel to manipulate the bat head. Also pitched utilizing a small side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball created occasional downhill angle through the zone in the low to mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 to near 12/6 shape with solid spin and good downward depth. Looked to attacked the strike zone early in counts and flashed developing feel to located to each edge. Very good student as well.
