James Jefferson is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Des Moines East. Large frame with a slender build and room to add. Ran a 7.87 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher with a side step delivery to start. Loose and whippy arm action in the back and into a middle three-quarter arm slot. Fastball shows late arm side life through the zine sitting in the low 80's and topping out at 85 MPH. Mixes in a sharp slider with some two plane depth and tight spin. Will also go to a changeup when up in the count. Worked out as a secondary outfielder with a deliberate close to the ball. Smooth footwork to and through exchanges. Stays accurate to the bag showing slight carry into through a long release at 77 MPH. Righthanded hitter with a narrow stance and high hand set. Linear actions into contact with a slightly downhill barrel path. Middle of the field approach with short line drive contact. Named to the 2019 Midwest Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
