Mitch Petzelt is a 2020 SS/RHP, C, UT with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Spring Hill, TN who attends Battle Ground Academy. Strong build with present athleticism. Ran a 6.85 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary infielder. Displayed deliberate actions working to and through the baseball with good footwork. Flashed confident glove actions with clean transfers into throws with good arm strength topping out at 83 mph across the infield. Also worked out defensively at catcher. Employs a side saddle start with clean glove actions. Displayed good footwork gaining ground well from behind the plate. Flashed clean transfers into throws with good arm strength topping out at 77 mph and posting a 1.90 second pop time. Right handed hitter. Employs an even stance with a little leg lift. Displayed a level barrel path through the zone with good barrel speed and control creating solid line drives and ground balls consistently. Also pitched at the event. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound. Lands online with the plate and stays online with the plate through finish. Showed a short, loose arm action with good arm speed throwing from a high three-quarter slot. Displayed a fastball with good feel for both sides of the plate up to 77 mph and a 12/6 curveball with good spin and bigger depth. Great student. Named to the 2019 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
