Hayden Tomazic is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Lafayette. Medium frame with longer limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary left handed pitcher with a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Created slight coil over back side at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum well. Quick arm circle at take back and released from a mid three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed some running action back to arm side with slight sink, topped at 82 miles per hour. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with breaking ball showing 2/7 shape with solid depth. Consistently worked ahead in the count with fastball before turning to breaking ball as an out pitch. Also worked out defensively from first base showing clean footwork while centering the baseball. Looser exchange and released from an extended arm slot. Throws created accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 79 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple front side trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a naturally lifted barrel plane. Extends through the baseball while employing a gap to gap approach. Created some jump off the barrel to the gaps when on time and squared. Good student.
