Andrew Rangel is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Gardnerville, NV who attends Douglas HS. Medium frame with some strength in build and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Short and deliberate strides to the ball. Full arm action in the back with some whip in release. Creates carry out of the hand staying on top of the ball well. Developing accuracy coming in topping out at 84 miles per hour. Also worked out from the infield. Gets around the ball and generates some momentum through transfer. Fuller path in the back into throws topping out at 82 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an open stance and high hand and back elbow. High leg lift trigger for timing. Linear path with a rotational swing. Swings with intent with some carry to the pull side of the field. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a high effort delivery. Finishes off to the glove side of the mound. Fills the zone up with the fastball sitting in the mid to upper 70's and topping at 80 miles per hour. Also mixed in a knuckleball at 62 miles per hour. Very good student as well.
