Michael Barajas is a 2019 2B/IF, OF with a 5-7 125 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Bonita Vista. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary second baseman with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball cleanly from a slightly deeper position and works through transfer with fluid exchanges. Flashed good first step angles while moving to each side and showed the action to throw on the run with accuracy to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Lower half works to contact with rotational actions showing good balance throughout. Loose, extended hand path to contact and delivered the barrel through the zone on a line drive plane. Primarily looked to work the middle of the field, but also flashed the barrel control to work all fields as well. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Good student.
