2006 Mid-Atlantic Underclass Showcase
Brandon Ellis is a 2009 2B/RHP/SS that attends Bear HS and resides in Newark, DE with a 5'6", 140 lb. frame. Brandon has a small build but showed good athletic ability at the event. At the plate Brandon gets very long in his swing plane and is a little jumpy in the box. He will need to work hard on shortening his swing path and getting his hands inside the ball. Brandon has good athletic ability and when he calms his approach some he will see a lot of improvement. At second base Brandon has good foot work and clean transfers to go along with a nice set of hands. He looks like he is a very steady defensive player. On the mound Brandon has a long loose arm action with good arm speed. He has good cut action on his fastball and a nasty 10 to 4 CB. Brandon is a fast-twitch player that when he gets bigger should attract the attention of many mid-level college programs.
