Peter Furia is a 2019 C/ with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends Ballard. Medium frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Primary catcher with a low, athletic stance while setting up to receive. Gains ground out of crouched with smooth paced footwork. Gets the baseball out quickly with clean exchanges. Released from a compact arm slot generating accurate carry to the bag, topped at 76 miles per hour. Best workout pop time of 1.85. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Created some shift into contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose path to contact with a slightly lifted plane through extension. Swung with intent and showed good strength at contact. Baseball jumped off barrel well generating loud, line drives to each gap. Excellent student. Named to the 2017 West Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
