Michael Carroll is a 2021 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-6 170 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Faith Lutheran. Large frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Smooth paced medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Medium arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated some downward plane through the zone with occasional run in the mid 70's, topped at 77 miles per hour. Curveball had 12/6 shape with good spin and late depth in the upper 60's. Consistently challenged the strike zone with both pitches and induced weak contact throughout each inning of work. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Developing fluidity while working through pick up and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced some carry to the bag topping at 78 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to baseball with a level, line drive barrel plane through extension. Created some leverage when working to contact out front and employed a mid-field approach.
