Caleb Banks is a 2023 OF/UT with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Portsmouth, RI who attends Portsmouth. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.79 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front, looks to work through the ball, shorter arm action through the back, will get under throws at times, can incorporate additional lower half into release. Right-handed hitter, begins with a medium hand set and a lower back elbow at the plate. Weight starts on backside, short shift moving into contact with a full swing path through the zone. Employs a contact oriented approach, works on a linear plane and works to all fields, handsy swing but gets the barrel out front at contact when on time. Very good student.
