Luke Ronayne is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Fair Haven, NJ who attends Christian Brothers Academy. Recorded a 4.90 second forty-yard dash time. Projectable frame with long levers, present lower half strength and some room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher that works from a full windup with good pace and temp throughout. Starts with a small side-step rocker into a higher leg lift, gathering nicely over his back leg; incorporates drop and drive lower half mechanics down the slope, while staying online directionally to foot strike. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 80 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower that commands the zone effectively, while flashing good extension through release and generating late sinking life to his fastball. Mixed in sharp 12-6 curveball as secondary, tunneling it well off his fastball and landing it for strikes often. Will continue to improve with minor refinements to mechanics and has the frame and projection to add more velocity in the future. Excellent Student.
