Quintt Landis is a 2019 C/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Moorpark, CA who attends Oaks Christian. Medium frame with a lean build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.44 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a taller, slightly side set stance while receiving. Gains ground to the bag and works through transfer with loose, smooth actions. Stays on back side while releasing from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Throws created on line carry to the bag topping at 73 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the outfield utilizing smooth paced, deliberate footwork. Moves through the baseball well with clean glove actions while funneling. Loose exchanges and released from a three-quarters arm slot topping at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, event stance and simple front side trigger. Shifts into contact well with lower half and work to baseball on a direct, compact path. Showed present bat speed through the zone on a line drive plane through extension. Consistently worked to all fields generating hard, loud contact off the barrel. Also pitched showing a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Created coil over back leg and stays tall at gather. Short arm circle at separation and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed some downward angle through the zone with occasional run in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had loose spin with occasional depth in the upper 60's. Looked to consistently fill the strike zone and challenge hitters. Excellent student. Named to the 2017 West Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
