Landyn Grant is a 2023 LHP/OF, 1B with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from White Oak, TX who attends White Oak. Large, athletic frame with square shoulder and long limbs, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.43 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, shows a clean and short arm action through the backside, does a nice job of hiding the ball while working to a high three-quarters release point, shows balance to delivery throughout. Works on top of fastball to generate plane and topped out at 73 mph, can incorporate additional lower half into drive towards the plate. Worked both sides of the plate well, fastball mostly true in life and pitched off it mostly, did flashed a curveball with 1-7 shape at 63 mph. Worked out from both the outfield and first base, graded best at first base, fields it out front with a quick transfer, comfort dropping arm slot and shows a feel for mechanics; works behind the ball well in the outfield, occasionally gets under throws but shows accuracy. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open and narrow base with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Occasionally mistimed with leg lift, shows a full swing path through the zone and comfort working to his pull side. Long finish through the point of contact, uses long limbs to create leverage and shows jump when on time and squared.
