Nicholas Fernandez is a 2022 C/3B/OF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Bridgeland. Slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. 7.44 runner, shows good athleticism and quickness behind the plate, gets low in his set up and has lower half flexibility, can gain ground better in his footwork throwing but gets ride of the ball quickly and repeats his mechanics, makes accurate throws. Played both the outfield and infield with young high energy actions, catcher likely to remain his primary position. Left handed hitter, big barrel wrap to start his swing, gets his front side coiled, lift and replace front leg load, takes a full aggressive cut at the ball, lots of timers and pre-swing mechanisms that create length, has some raw bat speed to develop as he gets stronger.
