Tyler Prather is a 2021 1B/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Frederick, MD who attends Frederick. Medium, athletic build with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned to frame. Ran a 7.31 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front, takes longer strides to and through the ball, extra step in release, long and loose arm action through release, shows ability to drop slot on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, side step moving into delivery, higher leg lift up past belt with hip turn at top, short and online stride down the mound; medium arm stroke through the back and hides the ball working to a near sidearm release point. Fastball topped out at 76 mph, able to generate running life in the zone rom release and mixed in a breaking ball at 67 mph with sweeping life. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a slight bend to knees, high hand set and back elbow i the box; utilizes a short leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Upper body dominant swing and can incorporate additional lower half into weight shift, shows a long swing path through the zone with occasional lift through the zone. Comfort working to pull side, shows raw strength off of the barrel and projects. Good student.
