Tyson Kogel is a 2021 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Sioux Falls, SD who attends Harrisburg. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary shortstop with sound footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Stays low while funneling the baseball out front and worked through exchange well. Flashed solid arm strength across the infield topping at 84 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Stays balanced and utilized rotational lower half actions to contact. Loose, smooth hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Flashed solid feel for the barrel with developing bat speed through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field with the barrel control to work the other way as well. Also pitched utilizing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Created slight coil over back leg at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to target. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly with some downward plane in the upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Showed good feel for fastball with the ability to consistently worked to each edge of the plate. Good student as well.
