2023 South Central Prospect Showcase
Ross Norman is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 6-2 225 lb. frame from Little Elm, TX who attends Lone Star. Primary right-handed pitcher with a larger frame and build showing some strength on the frame. Ran a 7.88 second sixty. Start in a hybrid wind up with a side step toward the first base side of the rubber. Leg lift above the belt while the arm works long and on track in the back to a three-quarters arm slot while maintaining his direction to the plate with the lower half. Was able to get the fastball to both halves at times topping out at 86 mph. Paired the fastball with a short breaking that plays with good plane off the fastball while maintaining arm speed. Flashed a changeup for a third offering with arm side fading action. Has good footwork at and around the bag at first base putting himself in position to make strong accurate throws to all the bags. Right-handed hitter starts with a wider base rocking the weight onto the back side to help create separation pre-swing. Has some strength at the point of contact with more to come as he works to better extend out front using his length to his advantage. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 South Central Prospect Top Prospect List.
