Richie Van Tassel is a 2020 MIF/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Cary, NC who attends Cardinal Gibbons. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lena, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows balance and controlled actions moving towards the ball, works behind the ball and reads the hops well, clean transfer and release while working through the ball, shows quickness to hands and gets on top of throws well to first base with carry. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and by loading hands back with slight coil; does a nice job of coming out and generate bat speed through the zone. Linear swing path with a middle of the field approach, consistent feel for barrel and squared up the ball regularly. Line drive contact and repeats mechanics well while showing ability to work all fields with quickness to hands. Very good student.
