Dillon Dankowski is a 2021 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends Horizon Christian HS. Large, squared shouldered build with present strength to frame and additional room to grow stronger moving forward. Primary first baseman, short steps coming off the bag, fields the ball out front, extra steps prior to release, upper body release with short arm action, occasionally gets under throws, overall arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, works with a short arm action through the back to a high three-quarters release point, on line with strike foot, occasionally opens early prior to release. Fastball topped out at 67 mph, occasionally shows cut action and able to induce ground ball contact. Throws strikes and pitched to contact, curveball shows 11-5 shape with short depth at 59 mph and keeps hitters off balance. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright and narrow stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Simple leg lift trigger for timing at the plate, utilizes a contact approach with a full swing path through the zone. Keeps hands in through swing, occasionally gets to front side early with weight shift, linear swing path to the ball with lift out front at times. Very good student.
