Stayton Ankrom is a 2021 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Reagan HS. Tall athletic build, some present strength, especially in his lower half, with room for more. 6.90 runner, has loose athletic actions in the middle infield, light and quick on his feet, compact arm circle and gets rid of the ball quickly with a smooth transfer, can change arm angles easily, good arm strength and accuracy. Right handed hitter, shifts into contact well, long and loose swing, gets to his front side and gets the barrel out front, showed nice gap power and the ability to stay behind the ball and drive it, projects as a hitter with additional upper body strength. Also pitched, works from the stretch, smooth low effort mechanics and arm action, hides the ball very well, 3/4's to mid 3/4's arm slot. Threw all fastballs in a quick inning, topped out at 80 mph. Good student.
