Jacob Rodriguez is a 2020 OF/RHP/IF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Colleyville, TX who attends Colleyville Heritage HS. Small build, lean and athletic frame with plenty of room to fill throughout with time to do so. Ran a 7.43 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, long arm action, would like to see gather more quickly, throws showed carry, topped out at 79 mph from the outfield. Also took reps in the infield, hands work out in front, developing footwork into gather and throws, showed similar arm action and arm strength as in the outfield. Also pitched, short stride down the mound, long arm action to a varying arm slot from 3/4 to high 3/4, simple and deliberate delivery, fastball flashed cutting action, also flashed a developing curveball, was most effective when working low in the zone to produce ground ball contact. Righthanded hitter, upright and open stance, hand quickness to the point of contact, hands stay tight, would like to see some looseness implemented to hands, middle of the field approach.
