Sam Tookoian is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-5 225 lb. frame from Fresno, CA who attends Buchanan. Extra-large, square shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned well throughout frame. Right-handed pitcher, starts on first base side of rubber, turn step moving into delivery, higher leg lift up past belt, gets tall on backside, online stride coming down the mound with extension over front side. Consistently worked around the strike zone, shorter arm action through the back and does a nice job of working on top of the ball to generate leverage and downhill plane. Fastball topped out at 92 mph and worked in the low-90s, flashed occasional running life to arm side. Curveball showed 11-5 shape with short depth to it up to 73 mph, has feel for landing the pitch and flashed a changeup at 82 mph. Three pitch mix and filled the zone while mixing. Very good student.
