James Nichols is a 2020 MIF/RHP with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Lakeland, TN who attends Evangelical Christian HS. Slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. Hits from a narrow stance with a limited lower half shift into contact, deep hand load, downward swing path, mid to opposite field contact. Second base tools on defense, rounds the ball well and stays behind it, developing arm strength. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot with some effort at release, lands on a stiff front leg out front that limits his extension and ability to get glove side. Fastball topped out at 76 mph, best pitch was an 11/5 curveball that he landed for strikes consistently. Very good student.
