Logan McNair is a 2022 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-9 153 lb. frame from Louisville, KY who attends Christian Academy of Louisville. Compact frame with a lean build. Frame projects for additional strength with continued physical maturity. Primary left handed pitcher with a smooth paced side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Compact stride out and works over front side well. Hides baseball well at take back and released from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly creating some downward plane in the low to mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had 2/8 shape with looser spin and some tilt to glove side in the mid 60's. Primarily looked to work fastball to the bottom of the zone showing developing feel for the edges. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing deliberate footwork while closing. Funnels off to side and worked through exchange efficiently. Released from a three-quarters slot generating uphill carry to the bag at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and reaching front side trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Primarily looked to lift the baseball to the middle of the field but also flashed the barrel skills to work the other way as well. Good student.
