Shane Mora is a 2018 2B/OF with a 5-9 162 lb. frame from Las Cruces, NM who attends Las Cruces. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.187 sixty-yard dash. Primary second baseman with smooth, athletic footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front cleanly with smooth glove to hand exchanges while working through transition. Gets the baseball out very quickly from a low three-quarters slot producing softer accurate carry across the infield. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing aggressive footwork closing to the baseball. Generated good momentum while moving through the baseball with clean actions. Produced uphill carry at release topping at 72 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly closed stance and simple leg lift trigger. Moves into contact with linear lower half actions. Level, line drive plane through the hitting zone. Flashed present bat speed with the ability to turn barrel and works to pull side with occasional pop. Primarily stays balanced throughout with the barrel control to work to all fields. Very good student as well.
