Donovan Dixon is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-6 110 lb. frame from Fairburn, GA who attends Woodward Academy. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build, has room to fill throughout with physical strength. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with hands that play, lighter actions on feet and moves well to work behind the ball, easy and extended release, arm strength will continue to develop moving forward, shows comfort and ability to drop slot. Also pitched, fuller and loose arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Uses a leg lift up to belt, short stride and stays on line, pitched to contact and able to get hitters off balance, filled zone, fastball topped out at 65 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Gets closed moving into contact and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Simple mechanics and does a nice job of repeating; full swing path through the zone with a linear plane. Gets the barrel to the ball well and worked the middle and pull side parts of the field, shows balance and creates extension out front. Nice tools on both sides of the ball that project moving forward with added strength.
