Jose Diaz is a 2017 2B/SS with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Lawrence, MA who attends Lawrence High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 5.12 40-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, light actions to footwork with bounce to step, longer strides moving towards the ball, range up the middle, fields the ball out front, gets upright at release, shows ability to throw with accuracy from multiple arm slots. Righthanded hitter, begins with a closed stance and uses a small toe tap trigger for timing. Shifts weight well through lower half, swings with intent and utilizes a contact approach at the plate. Handles the barrel and gets it to the ball, projects with additional physical strength.
