Xavier Smith is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from West Palm Beach, FL who attends Royal Palm Beach. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and works to the plate with slight drop and drive actions. Stayed in line well when working to the plate through extension. Shorter arm circle back at separation and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball showed natural cutting action to glove side with occasional sink topping at 71 miles per hour. Also flashed a curveball with 10/4 shape that had softer spin and some depth when located down in the zone. Primarily worked ahead in the count with fastball early. Began to become more comfortable with curveball inning in his second and third inning of work. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition.
