JT Mabry is a 2018 SS/2B/OF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends De Smet Jesuit HS. Medium frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.35 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Created good momentum through baseball while funneling with clean glove actions and quick exchanges. Baseball comes out very quickly from a three-quarters arm slot that produced on line carry across the infield, topped at 80 miles per hour. Switch hitter with an even, balanced stance from each side of the plate. Shifts into contact well with lower half while hands launch on a loose, uphill plane through extension. Flashed bat speed when turning the barrel to contact from the left side. Consistently repeated barrel path while utilizing an mid-field approach from the right side of the plate. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Excellent student as well.
