Juan Avila is a 2014 OF with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Caracas, Sel. Mature strong build, especially in the lower half, catcher's build. 7.13 runner, moves well in the outfield, works through the ball with good direction and balance, deep arm action, makes on line accurate throws, polished actions. Left handed hitter, big upper body curl and barrel wrap creates length, has bat speed, rotational swing, looks to lift and gets uphill, hits the ball out front with some bat speed and lift. Would be a nice catching prospect if he threw right handed as the tools are there.
