Davis Childers is a 2019 C with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Berkeley Preparatory. Medium, athletic build with square shoulders and present strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a lower set behind the plate and shows flexibility to actions, longer stride coming out of crouch and gains ground, short arm action and gets on top of the ball well, accurate down to second base, ball comes out well and shows strength to throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Hands start loaded back, stays short and direct to the ball with an inside path. Showed a fluid, linear path in live action and competes at the plate, able to generate back spin off the barrel when squared and working the middle of the field. Excellent student.
