Stephen Arcure is a 2008 OF/1B from Scranton Prep in Clarks Summit, PA, with a 5'10'', 175 lb. frame. He has some present strength for his age and athletic actions. Acure showed very good arm strength in the outfield with above average accuracy and excellent on-line carry. He moved to the ball well with good balance and a quick release. Acure ran 7.54 in the 60 and has a quick first step. At the plate, Acure shows good hand quickness and some bat speed. He flattens out his bat in back in his load, which tends to create a sweeping swing plane. He has the strength to make some adjustments, especially with wood, and keep improving. Acure is an aggressive hitter who takes an aggressive swing, which is always good to see in a young hitter. He's a good overall athlete and good sophomore follow. Acure is also a very good student.
