John Braxton Padgett is a 2024 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Holy Innocents Episcopal. Slender young athletic build, lot of physical projection remaining. Right handed hitter, starts a bit open in his stance with a controlled shift into contact, line drive middle of the field contact, shows good barrel control and executes his approach well, raw bat speed will continue to improve with additional strength and physical maturity. 7.55 runner in the sixty. Has smooth athletic actions in the middle infield, fluid to his backhand, has a quick exchange and release, makes the routine play well. Took a turn on the mound, rock back delivery with a high leg raise, high 3/4's arm slot, arm works well and generates lots of downhill angle with his mechanics, will get early with his front side at times. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight with occasional run when his arm angle drops, tends to slow his arm and lower his elbow on a slow curveball. Good athlete who will improve in proportion with how much strength he gains. Very good student.
