Jack Burnes is a 2021 OF/C with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Tiburon, CA who attends Marin Catholic High School. Medium, broad shouldered build with present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving towards the ball, fields out front and utilizes a high crow hop to generate momentum into release, short and compact arm action through the back, can continue to implement additional lower half and finish at release, arm strength will keep improving. Righthanded hitter, begins with a tall, even stance in the box with a high hand set and back elbow. Utilizes a short leg lift trigger for timing, shifts weight well through lower half, occasionally gets to front side early. Stays short to the ball and keeps hands inside the ball, stays linear with swing path and creates line drive contact, generates present bat speed through the zone. Very good student.
