John "Alex" Walsh is a 2023 RHP/IF with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Alexandria, LA who attends Fountainbleau. Strong mature build. Good balance over the rubber, compact arm stroke with a tight 3/4's arm slot, stays on line well and repeats his mechanics. Fastball worked consistently in the 89-91 mph range, mostly straight and thrown for strikes with some idea how to locate. Change up was a solid second pitch, gets big sinking action and throws it with confidence, will double up on it and work off it with success. Slider was a distant third pitch with developing spin and a flast break this outing, improving this pitch will be key to his development. Good student, verbal commitment to Mississippi State.
